The Los Angeles Lakers have lost a player to an injury before the season even started. The team announced that Kyle Kuzma will be out indefinitely with a foot injury.

Kuzma suffered a stress reaction in his foot while playing for Team USA this past summer. The Lakers say that he will miss at least the first three weeks of training camp. He averaged 18.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season.

The team has two preseason games in China against the Brooklyn Nets in October. Kuzma will still travel with the team and will have an MRI after they return from China.

The team will open the regular season on October 22 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
