With many of the Raptor's star players leaving the team over the past few seasons (we're looking at you Kawhi Leonard), it's exciting to hear that one of the team's most iconic players will be staying with the team another year.

The one-year contract extension is worth $31 million and will keep him with the team through the 2020-21 season. The star guard was entering the final year of a $100 million, three-year deal. He's the first player over 33 years old to receive an extension with a first-year salary-cap hit of more than $30 million.

"They displayed how they look after their players in a first-class manner, especially someone like Kyle who they recognize has such a legacy with the franchise," Lowry's agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN.

Lowry has been with the team since 2012 and played in five straight NBA All-Star games. The point guard has earned a total of $157 million in his 14-year career.
