The New York Giants have made a huge move by starting their rookie quarterback Daniel Jones instead of veteran Eli Manning. The Giants announced on September 17th Jones will start his first NFL game September 22nd.

Jones was the number six overall pick by the Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Giants coach Pat Shurmur said he spoke to Eli about the decision Tuesday morning.

"Eli was obviously disappointed, as you would expect, but he said he would be what he has always been, a good teammate, and continue to prepare to help this team win games."

Manning has started 232 games for the Giants over his 16-year career, which is a franchise record. He was their number one overall pick back in the 2004 NFL Draft and has won two Super Bowls with the team.

Only time will tell if Jones will make as big as an impact with the organization as legend Eli Manning.
