Martin Jones is the San Jose Sharks franchise goalie. In 2017, the team signed Jones to a six-year, $34 million extension. He repaid them in the 2018-19 season with a less than stellar .896 save percentage. Fans didn't hold back their anger, and feared how quickly he would prove to be their undoing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

For the first four games of the opening round fans' concerns seemed warranted. Jones couldn't save anything and was removed after the first period twice. Still, head coach Pete DeBoer kept the faith.

Back on home ice in game five, Jones and the Sharks cruised to a victory. Jones looked solid, but his biggest feat was yet to come. After the game, San Jose hopped on a plane back to Vegas, their playoff future still very much in doubt.

Tomas Hertl guaranteed fans that the Sharks would return home for game seven. Martin Jones must have gotten the message. He went on to save a franchise record 58 goals. The thrilling match went into double overtime, where Hertl scored the winning goal. San Jose had four men on the ice at the time.

Of course, the test isn't over for Jones just yet. Game seven will take place on Tuesday in an event that will be the first must watch game of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs!
