Many National Hockey League players have wives who help them keep their cool after a big game (pun intended). Some of these women are famous in their own right, such as actresses Elisha Cuthbert and Noureen DeWulf. NHL wives Erin Andrews and Sydney Esiason have even established themselves within the sports industry. Whether they met in celebrity circles or were childhood sweethearts, these hockey couples have some pretty adorable stories. Get ready to meet the wives of the NHL’s most prominent figures.

Jarret Stoll’s Wife Is Erin Andrews

Jarret Stoll’s wife is also in the sports industry, but not as an athlete. Erin Andrews began as an ESPN correspondent before joining the sportscaster team in 2004.

Erin has since moved on to Fox Sports, where she’s now the lead sideline reporter for their NFL broadcasting team. The sports genius is so well-known that she became one of the contestants on Dancing with the Stars in 2010. Jarret and Erin tied the knot in 2017.

Corey Crawford’s Wife Is Kristy Muscolino

Corey Crawford is married to Executive Fashion Assistant Kristy Muscolino. The couple began dating in 2016 and welcomed their first son the following year. In 2019, they officially tied the knot in Kristy’s hometown of Chicago.

The glamorous wedding took place at The Geraghty and plenty of Corey’s fellow Blackhawks teammates attended. The same year, the couple bought a $4 million condo at the prestigious Hayden West Loop, and in 2020 they welcomed their second son.

Dion Phaneuf’s Wife Is Elisha Cuthbert

You may recognize Dion Phaneuf’s wife for the many roles she’s played on television and in films. Elisha Cuthbert became a familiar face as the daughter of Jack Bauer in the show 24.

She made it onto the silver screen as the lead in The Girl Next Door. Elisha went on to perform in House of Wax, My Sassy Girl, The Ranch, and several other productions. She and Dion met in 2008 and were married in 2013.

Henrik Zetterberg’s Wife Is Emma Andersson

Henrik Zetterberg and Emma Andersson stepped into the spotlight around the same time for different reasons. Henrik was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 2002, and Emma got her start on the show Expedition Robinson in 2001.

Emma went on to put out a music album called “Who I Am” and became the host of Dolce Vita. She and Henrik got married in Sweden in 2010 and welcomed their son five years later. They have homes in Michigan and Sweden.

Carey Price’s Wife Is Angela Price

While hockey star Carey Price tends to be more reserved by nature, his wife, Angela Price, has embraced being in the limelight. She even has a blog about their life called By Angela.

The opposites first attracted when they were put on a blind date by a mutual friend, and they now have three children together. Fun fact, Carey had to fly from Washington to Canada the day after he and Angela’s wedding for an Olympic orientation camp!

Drew Doughty’s Wife Is Nicole Arruda

Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings has been with his wife, Nicole Arruda, since they were high school sweethearts! Though Drew would have graduated high school around 2007, he and Nicole waited for some time before tying the knot.

A decade after Drew’s NHL debut, he and Nicole got married. They headed back to their home country of Canada to have their wedding in Muskoka, Ontario in 2018. The couple has two children together.

Ryan Miller’s Wife Is Noureen DeWulf

You may recognize Ryan Miller’s wife as the character Lacey in the sitcom Anger Management. Noureen DeWulf started her acting career with a bang, starring in the Academy Award-winning short film West Bank Story.

She’s appeared in numerous films such as Ghosts of Girlfriend’s Past, The Back-up Plan, and Ocean’s Thirteen. Ryan and Noureen tied the knot in 2011. Despite both of them being brought up in the states, they held the ceremony in Vancouver, B.C.

Marc-André Fleury’s Wife Is Véronique Larose

Marc-André Fleury has been with his wife, Véronique Larose, since they were just 15-years-old. Even cuter is the fact that they lived on the same street growing up! After dating for more than a decade, Marc-André finally married his girl-next-door in 2012.

Véronique is the co-owner of the children’s clothing line Alex et Estelle, which is partially named after her and Marc-André’s firstborn. They now have a total of three children together and live in Las Vegas.

Mike Fisher’s Wife Is Carrie Underwood

While many of the women on this list are known for being the wives of famous NHL players, Carrie Underwood made a name for herself long before marrying Mike Fisher. The country music singer is one of the most successful American Idol winners of all time.

Four years after winning the singing competition, Carrie met Fisher at one of her shows. Eight years later, they tied the knot and have been married since December 2009.

Zdeno Chara’s Wife Is Tatiana Chara

Though it wouldn’t be until 2001 that Zdeno Chara was traded to the Ottawa Senators, the hockey player met his wife there in 1997. Tatiana was working as an economics engineer at the time.

After a decade of being together, the pair got married in Slovakia. In 2009, they welcomed their first child and several years later, Tatiana birthed twins. The family of five live in Boston, and Zdeno even got his license to sell real estate in Massachusetts.

Patrice Bergeron’s Wife Is Stephanie Bergeron

Patrice Bergeron’s wife, Stephanie, is also a native of Quebec, and she even graduated from Laval University. Though the couple now lives in Boston, they both spend time in their hometown frequently. The pair met in 2006 and waited several years before tying the knot.

Their wedding was in 2013, and two years later, their first child was born. Patrice and Stephanie have since welcomed two more children into their family, making them a household of five.

Brent Burns’ Wife Is Susan Holder

Six years into his NHL career, Brent Burns married Susan Holder, a Sam Houston State University graduate who went on to work for eBay. The ceremony took place in 2009 and the couple welcomed their first child the following year.

Susan and Brent now have three children and an array of pets, which earned their Minnesota home the nickname “Burns Zoo.” The couple must be huge animal-lovers because they also have a Texas ranch where Brent raises exotic animals like Fallow deer and Wildebeest.

Brandon Dubinsky’s Wife Is Brenna McGuire

Brandon Dubinsky met his model wife, Brenna McGuire, through mutual friends. The funny thing is that both of them were already living in the same Manhattan building before they met! Talk about fate.

The couple got engaged on a romantic Mexico trip in 2011, where Brandon proposed on the Yucatan Peninsula. Their wedding ceremony took place in Palm Beach the following year. Brandon and Brenna have since welcomed their first child, who was born in December 2013.

When Anastasia Shubskaya met hockey star Alexander Ovechkin, she was already used to being around famous people. Her mother is actress and director Vera Glagogeva. The pair quickly knew that they were right for one another, and they got engaged in 2015 mere months after meeting each other!

It wasn’t until the following year that the big day happened, and they carried out the intimate wedding in Russia, where Alexander is from. The couple now have two children together.

Matt Duchene’s Wife Is Ashley Groissaint

Dustin Brown has been with his wife, Nicole Brown, since they were just 15! That means she was by his side through his early days and into the 2003 NHL draft. The high school sweethearts have since had four children who were born between 2008 and 2013.

The family lives in Manhattan Beach, California and are known for their charity work throughout Los Angeles county. Dustin’s giving nature even earned him the 2011 NHL Foundation Player Award.

Robin Lehner’s Wife Is Donya Lehner

Robin Lehner first arrived on the NHL scene when he was drafted by the Ottawa Senators. He played on three other teams before landing at his current spot on the Vegas Golden Knights.

Robin married Donya Lehner in 2014, and the pair welcomed their first child in 2014 and their second in 2017. Fun fact, the family lives in fellow hockey star David Alfredsson’s former home in Ottawa, Canada. David sold the place to Robin after signing with the Detroit Red Wings.

John Gibson’s Wife Is Alexa DelGreco

John Gibson met his wife, Alexa DelGreco, when the two were in nursery school! They continued to go to the same school until the 8th grade, after which they lost touch.

As though by fate, they reconnected when both returned to their former elementary school for a communion that each had a relative participating in. After three and a half years of dating, John proposed in 2016 and they held the wedding in August of 2018.

Braden Holtby’s Wife Is Brandi Bodnar

Braden Holtby married Brandi Bodnar in 2013, and they’ve since have two children together. Though Braden signed with the Vancouver Canucks in 2020, the family resides in Clarendon, Virginia.

A month after joining the Canucks, Braden faced some trouble at the border on his way North because he didn’t have documentation for his two tortoises! Fortunately, Brandi was able to come to her husband’s rescue. She successfully lobbied for his return to his team’s country.

Nicklas Bäckström’s Wife Is Liza Berg

Nicklas Bäckström comes from an athletic family, so it only makes sense that he’s found success in the NHL. Nicklas’ mother played professional handball in the ’70s and ’80s, and his brother played in a German pro hockey league.

Despite his family ties to sports, Nicklas didn’t fall for a fellow pro athlete. His heart belongs to his fiancée, Liza Berg, with whom he shares three children. The family of five live in Arlington, Virginia.

Andrei Vasilevskiy’s Wife Is Ksenia Vasilevskiy

Andrei and Ksenia Vasilevskiy have one of the most unique love stories on this list. The pair met on a plane of all places back in 2009! At the time, Andrei was playing for the Russian Junior Hockey League.

They were both was just 15-years-old at the time, and they hit it off so well that they went on to date for years before tying the knot in 2014. Their first son ended up being born during one of Andrei’s matches!

Claude Giroux’s Wife Is Ryanne Breton

Claude Giroux has been with the Philadelphia Flyers since 2006 and has been their team captain since 2013. His commitment to his team didn’t deter from Claude’s love life, though.

In 2016, he became engaged to Ryanne Breton, and the two officially tied the knot in 2018. Though Ryanne leads a mostly private life, we do know that the couple dated for some time before getting hitched. The pair welcomed their first child in 2019.

Cale Hulse’s Wife Is Gena Lee Nolin

Anže married Ines Dominc in 2013 after 8 years of dating. The following year, the couple officially made LA their home by purchasing a property in Manhattan Beach. Shortly thereafter, the couple welcomed two children in 2015 and 2016.

Jaroslav Halák’s Wife Is Petra Halák

Though not much is known about Jaroslav Halák’s wife, Petra, we do know they married in 2012. That means she’s been by the hockey star’s side at least since his St. Louis Blues days.

In their first few years of marriage, Jaroslav was traded around quite a bit, moving from the Buffalo Sabres to the Washington Capitals and then the New York Islanders. He joined the Boston Bruins team in 2018. He and Petra have two children together.

Niklas Hjalmarsson’s Former Wife Is Elina Casell

Victor Hedman’s Wife Is Sanna Grundberg

Matt Martin is another one of the few hockey players on this list who fell for someone in his industry. Syndey Esiason has been known her entire life for being the daughter of NFL legend and WFAN host, Boomer Esiason.

Sydney followed in her father’s footsteps by becoming an NHL host and a Sports Illustrated anchor. Being that her career is centered on hockey more than football, it was only a matter of time before she met Matt. The pair wed in 2019 and had their first child in 2020.
