During his racing days, Dale Earnhardt was the “Intimidator.” Few drivers struck fear in the hearts of their competitors as he did. He won seven Cup championships to go along with 76 wins and would have won more if tragedy hadn’t struck at the turn of the century.

During the 2001 Dayton 500, Earnhardt was involved in a three-car crash that claimed his life. His son, Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished second, only finding out about his father’s fate after crossing the finish line. The “Intimidator” was 49-years-old at the time.
