Simone Biles has just become the most decorated female gymnast ever after winning her 21st medal at the 2019 Gymnastics World Championships in Germany on October 8th.
The 22-year-old gymnast represents Team USA proudly at every competition
“Every year it feels better and better just because we’re adding to the legacy,” Biles told The New York Times. “I feel like I never think of records. I just go out there and do what I came to do, which is compete for the country.”
Before this latest medal, she was tied with Russian gymnast Svetlana Khorkina for the record of most overall medals at the world championship.
The superstar athlete is now only two medals short of male gymnast Vitaly Scherbo, which holds the record for both men and women at the world championships.
Biles will appear in the All-Around Final, which features the top 24 gymnasts, on October 10th.
