Kansas City Chiefs’ Quarterback Patrick Mahomes Injures Ankle

Football | 10/7/19

The Kansas City Chiefs lost more than just the game during Sunday Night Football on October 6th. Their quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, "tweaked" his ankle according to head coach Andy Reid.

"Tweaked it just a little bit. I think he's going to be OK. He was pretty good at the end there. We'll see how that goes," said Reid in a statement.

Mahomes was 22-for-39 for 321 yards and one touchdown during the game. Kansas City ended up losing 19-13 to the Indianapolis Colts.

"Just reaggravated it a little bit there in the first half and then got stepped on in the second half. Obviously it's going to be a little sore tomorrow but for me, just kind of going into treatment and getting it better so I can be prepared for next week," said Mahomes in a statement.

Mahomes wasn't the only injured Chiefs player to leave the game. Lineman Chris Jones left in the third quarter with a groin injury. Linebacker Anthony Hitchens also left with a groin injury and lineman Xavier Williams exited with an ankle injury in the first half.

Hopefully these guys are back in the game for when The Chiefs host the Texans on Sunday, October 13th.
